First, you need a Google Business Profile: To add information to your Google Business Profile, you’ll need an existing account. If you’ve already set one up, great! You’re ready to go! Second, Create Your WhatsApp Chat Link: Use https://wa.me/<number> where the <number> is a full phone number in international format. Remove any zeroes, brackets, or dashes when adding the phone number in international format. Examples: Use: https://wa.me/61XXXXXXXXXX Don't use: https://wa.me/+61(XX)XXXXXXX Tip: Use your notes app on your phone to type it out. Once your WhatsApp link is copied to your clipboard, continue to the next stage!
Step 1) Open the Google Maps App on your phone. Step 2) Tap the Business Icon at the bottom right of the app. Note: Make sure you are logged into the right Google Profile (See your profile at the top right of the app)
Step 3) Make sure you have the right business selected - if not, select the business name area and find your business. Step 4) Tap the Edit profile Icon at the bottom left of the icon list - just before the More toggle.
Step 5) Tap Contact to quickly scroll to the Chat field. Step 6) Tap the Edit Icon at the right of the field name.
Step 7) Tap the left dropdown box to bring up your chat options. Step 8) Tap the WhatsApp option from the dropdown list.
Step 9) Tap the left input box and paste in your WhatsApp URL. Step 8) Tap the Save button to save WhatsApp as a Chat option for your potential customers. Note: The screen may jump around when tapping the input box - simply scroll back down to the Chat field.
That's It! Done! Note: It can take up to 10mins for the data to be live on your profile.
